FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW MANY CAMPERS WILL BE ALLOWED AT EACH CAMP?

Our max. capacity is 60 campers, 30 girls and 30 boys.

HOW MUCH DOES CAMP COST?

Camp costs vary each year. We keep our costs as low as possible, while still offering a premium camp experience to our campers. This year, our cost is $275 for each camper.

DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS?

Due to the nature of our camp, we rely solely upon camp tuition to put on our camps. We receive no supplemental funding from a denomination and infrequent donations toward camp expenses. As such, we are unable to offer discount programs. We never want finances to be a reason for a child to miss the opportunity to attend camp. Discounts may be possible on an individual basis. To inquire, email Kristi @ info@6milecrv.com.

WHAT TYPE OF TRAINING DO THE COUNSELORS RECEIVE?

Our counselors and staff undergo 4 days of intensive staff training. We train counselors to keep campers safe in every aspect: physical, spiritual, and emotional. We take the privilege of leading your children very seriously and understand the impact our staff will have while your camper is here. Our hiring process is extensive to ensure that we hire staff that loves the Lord with all of their heart and understands the mission to show that same love to our campers. They are also trained in emergency and safety procedures.

CAN CAMPERS USE THEIR CELL PHONES WHILE THEY’RE AT CAMP?

We do not allow campers to have their phones while at camp. We strive to create an "unplugged" environment filled with creation and relationship building. Please help us attain this by ensuring that your camper is dropped off to camp technology free.

WHAT IS A TYPICAL DAY AT CAMP LIKE?

6 MILE Camp activities vary from summer to summer, with a few staples like Bible study, zip-lining at the pond, and meaningful cabin times-when cabins recap their day &/or play a game of cards. Our mornings begin around 7a and lights-out is around 10p. Our Program Directors, Joe and Syd, pack those hours with programming that rivals any camp in the world. With great intention, they design activities to challenge, encourage, and thrill campers. Early on, we have a premier breakfast and a time of worship and Bible study. Mid-morn is made for activities. Mid-day, we build in rest-time, so campers and staff members get opportunities for quiet quality time and can recharge for the afternoon ahead, though many choose to shoot hoops or play Gaga Ball. In the afternoons, more activities (more creative each year). We end the day in worship and the Word, then showers and cabin time. Every year--every day--is different. We leave room for the Holy Spirit to redirect our plans, but we've described here a common 6 MILE Camp Routine.

WHY SHOULD I SEND MY CHILD TO 6 MILE?

What a great question! Over the last 5 summers, we have seen familiar faces year after year. Our greatest compliment is the many campers who choose 6 MILE over all the other camps, or in addition to other camps! Some things we have heard:

  • '6 MILE is home to my child.'

  • 'My child feels like he/she is accepted at 6 MILE.'

  • 'My child loves the food!'

  • 'My child feels loved, like the staff at 6 MILE is their family.' (And we are!)

  • One camper said, just last year, 'every where else I have ever gone to camp, I have been made fun of and bullied. I'm comin' back here next year, because at 6 MILE I was treated so good.'

We are unashamedly a small camp! This smallness enables us to do what we call "ministry one inch wide, but a mile deep" rather than "ministry a mile wide, but only an inch deep."

We cannot guarantee that we won't have to work through personality issues among campers, and even staff members! But we can guarantee that if the need arises, and we are made aware, we will work through those issues in ways that everyone can grow from because of the love of God and His instructions to be reconciled with Him and with others.

We cannot guarantee your child will leave camp a whole new person, for the better. But we can guarantee attentiveness and the effort to meet them where they are mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually, encouraging them to take steps toward the God who loves them most, and called them to a moment of encounter at camp, at 6 MILE. These encounters are our greatest honor, and we're looking for them!

Where you should send your camper is up to you! You know them best! But here, we are more than a couple days away from home. We are encounter hunters, hoping to invest in everyone who enters the gates of 6 MILE!
